1st Road Safety Webinar, Philippines

The Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group (HPG) held a celebration of their 63rd founding anniversary at Camp Crame in Quezon City. With the theme “Disciplined Motorists on Highways, Bringing Safety”, the program included the 1st Road Safety Web Seminar. This seminar was brought to all 18 Regional PNP Offices nationwide by live streaming, enabling those in the regions to listen to the speakers and participate in the open forum by sending their questions through text messaging or email.

Among the speakers were the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF), World Health Organization (WHO), European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), International Road Assessment Programme (iRAP), University of the Philippines National Center for Transportation Studies (UPNCTS), UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies (UP-CIFAL) and the Department of Transportation.

The webinar had around 300+ participants in the Multipurpose Center listening and participating in the discussions, represented by government officials involved in transport safety and enforcement; transport leaders; car dealers/manufacturers; academia and Law Enforcement Officers. In addition, 750+ participants watched the event via live streaming and 2,000+ people watch the recording sessions.
