Call for Proposals - Transforming Transportation 2022
- February 15 - 17, 2022
Transforming Transportation 2022
We are pleased to launch a call for proposals for Session Hosts at Transforming Transportation 2022, carrying on the successful initiative of the past few years which already resulted in many partnerships with global transport agencies.
The World Bank and the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities will host the 19th annual Transforming Transportation conference on February 16-17, 2022. Building on the success of last year’s event, Transforming Transportation 2022 will once again be held virtually, and will include an additional session scheduled specifically for participants connecting from Asia-Pacific time zones.
As one of the leading international forums exclusively dedicated to transport and development, Transforming Transportation has become a key part of the global conversation on sustainable mobility. This year’s theme is Climate-Centered Mobility For A Sustainable Recovery. As the transport sector continues to struggle with the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, there is also increased urgency – and emerging opportunities – to address the climate crisis. Transport networks and services connect people and businesses around the world, but these systems are vulnerable to a broad range of climate change-induced hazards that are becoming more frequent and severe. At the same time, transport is among the largest and fastest-growing contributors to planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions. Transforming Transportation 2022 will take post-COVID recovery and post-COP26 commitments as a starting point to explore how we can build back better and transition toward greener, safer, more accessible and efficient mobility.
Call for proposals
Apply to be Session Hosts at Transforming Transportation 2022, carrying on the successful initiative of the past few years which already resulted in many partnerships with global transport agencies.
The call for proposals gives outside organizations a unique opportunity to design and deliver parallel sessions during the conference. Proposals must be aligned with the overall theme of the conference and the topics of the plenary sessions, and cannot promote specific products or services. Session hosts will assume responsibility for the agenda, session format, speakers and all required expenses, and will be required to contribute a fee of US$15,000 towards defraying administrative costs of the conference. We invite you to take a look at the attached documents for detailed information on becoming a session host. Please note that organizations interested in hosting a session should send their proposals or any questions to @email by October 20, 2021.
In addition to hosting parallel sessions, TT2022 offers other ways to participate as a partner, sponsor, or knowledge booth host at Expo TT2022, which will allow your organization to engage with a wide variety of senior-level policymakers, officials, and technical experts. In recent years, speakers have included former presidents, ministers, mayors, and leading corporate executives. Last year, a record-breaking 4,400 transport and urban development leaders from all over the world registered for our event. We are excited to deliver Transforming Transportation to an even wider audience this year and anticipate 5,000 virtual attendees through our live interactive platform.
