Road Safety Calculator outreach webinar series ⌵︎

GRSF, Iowa State University and Monash University hosted a series of outreach webinars  intending to collect the audience thoughts on the Road Safety Calculator – a new tool that is being developed by GRSF with funding from the UK Aid, to support road safety strategy selection in low- and middle-income countries.

This new tool is intended to allow practitioners to quantify the benefits of implementing road safety strategies. The objective is to help government agencies and non-governmental organizations set priorities for road safety interventions in the areas of road user behavior, vehicle safety features, roadway infrastructure, and traffic speed management.

As part of this process, the project team gathered information about the characteristics and needs of potential tool users. With more than 200 participants over 3 days, each session provided an overview of the tool, followed by group discussions to learn more about desirable applications of the tool, country-specific data, policy constraints, and information and training needs.
